Some great press for Apollo Run and Jeff Kerestes
People keep talking about Brooklyn based band Apollo Run. After a quick West Coast tour earlier this year and some North East regional shows(Boston, DC, NYC), AR has been getting some really great press. Here are a couple interviews/reviews for the band and why I like them…Click on the link and read them for yourself…
Future Sounds Great quote: “…bassist Jeff Kerestes at the helm dripping with the swagger of stars from the arena rock days.”

JK Bass teams up with TC Electronic and Mono Cases
Just got two new endorsements from TC Electronic and Mono Cases. I am really excited to be associated these companies and their products…Here’s the scoop.
TC Electronic
I met up with TC this past January at NAMM. I tried out their line of Bass amps and was totally blown away. TC has always been known for quality guitar effects and studio gear but In 2009, they made the move to bass gear… The RH450 head is seriously the best sounding bass amp I have heard. It’s crisp, clear and can really kick when you need it too! It’s the way a bass amp is supposed to sound… It’s built tough. It looks awesome. It sounds killer. You need one too. I ended up getting the RH450 head and 3 RS210 cabs. Check them out at TC Electronic’s website: www.tcelectronic.com
Mono Cases
I have tried lots of different cases… When I was introduced to the Mono Case I thought two things: 1) wow this is a bad ass case and 2) I need one of these… Mono has thought of everything and has executed their ideas perfectly. The case is stylish, sturdy, and extremely well made. The ultra light laminated foam shell and strategically placed ABS panels provide tons of protection(it’s like a cross between a hard and soft case) and the storage compartments have lots of room and even have a cable holder! It’s also water proof and really light(only 94 oz)! Mono makes a bunch of other cool cases and bags…Check them out and order one from their website: monocase.com
Dunlop MXR Artist Jeff Kerestes

I am so excited about my new endorsement with Jim Dunlop and MXR. I just got a package in the mail with my new pedals and strings. MXR pedals are amazing. I have been using Jason Langley’s MXR El Grande for the past couple months on all my gigs with Apollo Run and now finally have my own! The El Grande is by far the best bass fuzz pedal I have ever heard. I also got the new MXR Octave Deluxe and the DC Brick. I will post some videos of the pedals on my youtube account soon! Thanks so much to Darryl Anders at Dunlop/MXR for everything.
New York Bassist Jeff Kerestes
WOW! So this week marks 3 years on the East Coast for me! I left Phoenix, Arizona and Moved to New York back in September of 2006! Its hard for me to believe it because its gone by so quick. Since moving I have had so many changes and so many great experiences both musically and personally that I can’t even begin to list them all. I feel like I have been extremely lucky to have not only gotten to play and work with so many great musicians, but to now be able to call so many of them my friends. From all the singer/songwriters to the Village R&B scene and even the bassists at the NYC Bass Brunch, everyone has helped make my life and career great. I’ve spent so much time and effort working and striving to be a successful professional musician that it is incredibly rewarding and gratifying to know that I am doing what I set out to do.
Thanks so much for coming to my website and checking me out. There are so many great things happening right now and even more on the horizon. Keep checking in with me. I will be updating and adding to the site as often as I can.
Everything is moving forward and I am so excited to see where I end up in another 3 years…

JK Bass @ Bryant Park NYC with Apollo Run
Jeff Kerestes was in a Magazine!
That’s right! I was in the September 2008 issue of Premier Guitar! The article was entitled “Zen and the Art of Bass Tone” and was written by New York veteran bassist, Mike Visceglia. The article features talk about bass tone from the New York City Bass Brunch. The Bass Brunch is a brunch gathering of New York’s most experienced working bass players. I have been lucky enough to have been invited to be apart of the once a month low end hang out…In the article, we all discuss our ideas about tone, feel and what makes each of our sounds unique. Its a definite must read for bassists!
Here are a couple pictures from the article…
